One woman, who is the strength and the eyes of the company, Audrey Lee Hoon Ling has lived through her life threatening accident to bring to life her dream of setting up a company that invests in people and their capabilities.
Born on 11th August, 1963, she completed her education from Australian National University and has amassed over a period of 20 years, experience in various industries like Manufacturing,
Lifestyle, Hotels, Property Development, Distribution, Telemedia, Aircraft, Electronics, Insurance (General & Life),
Logistics, Banks, Travel, High Tech, and Fish Farms.
Audrey’s exposure to international businesses has provided her with much needed expertise to set up BMR and value add to her ecosystem in an effective and professional manner. She has worked with some of the highly reputed and respected firms in the world including Coopers & Lybrand (Australia), now known as PriceWaterhouseCoopers, American International Group, 3M Asia Pacific, Adaptec Manufacturing, Singapore Technologies Pte Ltd, and NatSteel Electronics Pte. Ltd, which has been acquired by Solectron Corporation.
In her previous stints with organizations such as Solectron Technology
Pte. Ltd., where she held the position of Director-Internal Audit, Audrey was recognized for achieving all organizational goals and objectives. She fuelled a new vision for this $12bn multi-national company based purely on risk, value assurance, and change. She believes that change is the only constant and the biggest motivator. Audrey was also responsible for rebuilding an audit team of experienced, quality driven and professional staff. One of the key roles was to invigorate IT auditing, primarily through co-sourcing.
Prior to this, Audrey has worked with Singapore Technologies Pvt. Ltd as a Manager for Internal Audit. Her KRA or key result area was managing and liaising with Audit Committee, management, implementation of a follow up mechanism to ensure that audit issues raised are rectified. She initiated appraisals of performance quality of the Audit System and ascertained the reliability of management data developed within the organization. At the request of the management, she performed special reviews.
With Adaptec Manufacturing (S) Pte Ltd, Audrey worked as a management analyst assisting the Director, Finance, and Administration on special projects. She worked on implementation of daily cycle count to eliminate theft and improve inventory management. Audrey was responsible for introducing
Business Process Reengineering to all levels of staff in the operation, and assessed the competitive strategy. Her KRA’s included achievement of corporate targets, redesign of the entire Corporate Communication on Process Reengineering for the corporation, and managing and liaising with all level of staff, consumers, suppliers and subcontractors.
From October 1990 to June 1993, Audrey worked with 3M Asia Pacific Pte Ltd, Singapore as their Regional Lead IT/Internal Auditor, Asia. She set up the Asia Audit Hub and created a cluster of countries, grouped them together and obtained their audit services from the hub. Her main objective was to review, evaluate, and set up the Internal Audit Strategy, taking in account the IT Risk area. Audrey also contributed to the cause of more structured audits by initiating computerized Retrieval Packages, PCs, and Performance Systems Development Audits. Another KRA and key area of interest for Audrey has been in the field of training. She has been involved in conducting research, developing manuals and training guides. She performed joint audits with External Auditors to avoid duplication of audits and assisted in the negotiation of external audit fees.
She started her career with Coopers and Lybrand as an Audit Assistant and today she has all the necessary requirements and expertise to lead BMR from the front. A life changing accident in 2001, left Audrey physically
challenged. Despite this, true to her nature, Audrey fought her situation to emerge as a winner. She continues to work independently and strives for perfection in everything she takes on. She is also actively involved in some communal and voluntary work despite her hectic work schedule.
